Salwa Ali was arrested in Alexandria governorate amidst the events of September 20, 2019 and forcibly disappeared until she appeared before the prosecution on October 1, 2019, under case No. 1338 of 2019, Supreme State Security . She was charged with the participation in a terrorist group to achieve its objectives, broadcasting and disseminating false news, misuse of social media, and participating in a demonstration without a permit. She was imprisoned under investigations. She was released on parole on 12 October 2019. Violations she was subjected to: enforced disappearance for days.
