The security forces arrested Samar Abdo in her home on May 30, 2016 on military orders. She is an employee of The Alexandria Arsenal company. She was taken to the Attarin department and then handed over to the military police to be transferred to the military prosecution, which investigated her under case 204 of 2016, Alexandria Military Prosecutions, registered under number 2759 in 2016, Alexandria Military Misdemeanours. She was accused of charges of inciting strike and disruption of work. She was released on bail of 500 pounds on the same day. On 30 October 2019, she was sentenced to one year in prison with a suspended sentence, a fine of 2,000 pounds, and dismissal from her job.
