Youssef Sherif was arrested as a minor on October 6, 2013 during the events of 6 October in Qasr al Nile. He was investigated under case 9993 for 2013, Qasr al Nile Misdemeanors. He was charged with assaulting security forces, damaging public and private property, assembly, inciting riots, destroying 2 boats and then sinking them in the Nile, possession of tools and bladed weapons during the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the 6 October war, and clashing with citizens, central security forces, and the army. He was detained pending investigations. He was released on October 9, 2013 and acquitted on December 7, 2013.
