Judge Hasan Mahmoud Farid was born in 1955. He obtained a Bachelor of Law in 1979.
He started his judicial career as a prosecutor in Port Said Prosecution; was then appointed as the president in Mansoura Prosecution; president in Benha Felonies; president in Al Ismailia Felony Circuit; president in Tanta Felony circuit, in which he presided over terrorism cases before he became a president in a criminal circuit in the Cairo Appeal’s Court.
He was the president of terrorism circuit No. 8 (the circuit was dissolved in November 2019). Then he was appointed to serve as a member in the Supreme Court of Values in December 2019.
As of 2020, he sentenced 162 defendents to death in the terrorism cicuits.
