Lina Atallah was arrested on May 17th, 2020 in front of Tora Prison while she was interviewing Dr. Laila Soueif, the mother of the activist Alaa Abdel Fattah. She was interrogated in Case No. 8009 of 2020 Maadi Misdemeanor. She was released on bail of 2000 L.E. on the same day. She was released the next day. She was arrested again on September 6th, 2022, in Case No. 19 of 2022, Cairo Appeal Court, after the Nation’s Future Party submitted complaints against her. She was presented to the prosecution on September 7th, 2022, and her release was ordered.
