Samah Ibrahim was arrested on January 14, 2014 while covering a Brotherhood march on the first day of the constitutional referendum in Al-Khallawi area of Bashra. She was detained under case No. 688 of 2014, Al Sahel Misdemeanors. She received a one-year prison sentence on March 17, 2014, which was commuted on appeal to six months and a fine of 50,000 pounds on 29 April 2014. She served her sentence in al-Qanater prison and was discharged on July 22, 2014. – Violations she was subjected to: – She was beaten in Al-Qanater prison in what is known as the Qanater massacre.
