Osama Abd El-Shafi Ahmed Al-Rashidy

Judge Osama Abd Al Shafi Ahmed obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Policing in 1976. In 1980, he was appointed as an Assistant to the Public Prosecutor.

He took different positions until he became a Distinguished Deputy of Public Prosecution in 1983.

In 1984, he was appointed as a judge in First Instance Courts; president of a category B Court in 1989; president in a category A Public Prosecution in 1993; Attorney General in 1997; First Attorney General in 2000.

In 2002, he was appointed as a president of the Appeal Courts. From 2009-2012, he served as the president of Suhag First Instance Court in; the president of Luxor First Instance Court.

In June 2016, he was appointed as an Assistant to the Minister of Justice in the Public Affairs Office.

He was then appointed as the president of terrorism circuit No. 6 (canceled on November 3rd, 2019); and president of the restructured circuit No. 27, South Cairo Felonies, on November 4th, 2019.

Note: Among the famous cases in which he presided is the bribery case in which he sentenced Salah Hilal, the previous Minister of Agriculture, and his office manager, to ten years imprisonment.
